Recently (January 28th) my Progressed Moon phase moved from Balsamic or Waning Crescent into the New Moon phase. I would love to report that cymbals clashed, angels sang, and all manner of glory arrived in cloth of gold – they didn’t – or at least not where anyone else but me could hear them. Inside my tender little heart of hearts though, symphonies, victory parades, and giggling gratitude abounded. After almost four years of solitude and soul searching (not to mention the pandemic, lockdowns, and quarantines), I could actually feel my personal new dawn at hand.

What the hell is a Progressed Moon phase you say?

We are all used to the monthly cycle of the Moon moving through each of her phases– New, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, Waning Crescent (Balsamic.) And, if we think about it, each of us was obviously born during one of these phases. Both of these phenomena have astrological information for us but I am talking about an entirely different Moon cycle.

The repeating 30-year Progressed Moon phase is found through the predictive tool known as Secondary Progressions which reveals information about how our Natal promise is evolving as we mature over time.  During the Progressed New Moon phase, we launch new long-term projects, the details of which are gradually revealed to us throughout the ensuing seven Progressed Moon phases.

For me, this Progressed Moon story feels like the secret sauce that turns daily life into a lived adventure. It is the underlying “why” that explains my emotional aura and allows me to make sense of the background music in my life.
