Spring has sprung, right? So, why does it feel like an over officious crossing guard is blocking our path? Tantalized by all the colors, beauty, and delights around us, the way is not yet open for us to dive in. What’s the holdup?
Venus, the goddess of love, pleasure, and Spring festivals, has been under fire for several months. Beginning in early November when she entered the sign of Capricorn, she was in a slow waltz with both Pluto, the god of hell and Mars, the god of war. Due to her retrograde cycle, she remained trapped in this edgy threesome for over four months.
When Venus finally exited Capricorn and entered Aquarius, one would expect that she might get her mojo back, right? Nope. From the moment she stepped out of Capricorn on March 6th she has been enclosed or besieged between the two malefic planets, Saturn and Mars. Saturn represents all things challenging, difficult, and immoveable. Mars represents violence, anger, and war. So, the benefic planet Venus, goddess of love, light, justice, art, and beauty has been imprisoned since early March between the two planets affectionately called “a rock and a hard place!”
On March 28th at 12:27 pm PT, Venus will finally catch up to Saturn and escape her captivity. Granted, Venus will no longer be there to keep Saturn and Mars from fully going for each other’s throats so, things will not suddenly bust out in rainbows and love songs – but we will definitely be headed in the right direction!
Eight days later on April 5th, Venus will join Jupiter, the other benefic planet, in Pisces. Pisces is a sign ruled by Jupiter and in which Venus is exalted. This means that both planets and both benefics will be in a sign in which they are extraordinarily strong, happy, and therefore effective. At last, not only will Venus be free from her shackles but she will be luxuriating in a rose scented bubble bath with champagne and bonbons at hand. Release the unicorns and let the party begin!
